The district councils in Somerset have agreed to use “Land-Use Planning & Development Control: Planning For Air Quality” as the basis for managing air quality through the development control process.
All major developments, and any developments in or adjacent to an Air Quality Management Area, are likely to require an Air Quality Assessment. Developers/Agents should consult the air quality officer or equivalent at the relevant district council at pre-application stage.
